With full transparency, we want to share that while Texas Legacy Compassion Foundation is officially recognized by the State of Texas as a nonprofit, we are still awaiting our IRS determination for 501(c)(3) status. Until this approval is finalized, we are unable to issue tax-deductible receipts directly.

OUR JOURNEY TO COMPASSION
MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission, born from personal loss, is to honor lives cut short by ensuring families are not left behind after the passing of a provider. We provide immediate financial assistance, compassionate resources, and a legacy of hope. Helping families find strength in the midst of sudden tragedy.
FOUNDERS STORY:
On August 15, 2023, my life changed forever when I unexpectedly lost my husband, Waylon. At the time, I had been a stay-at-home mom for four years, raising our three children. Suddenly, our family’s world was turned upside down.
Waylon was a giver; someone who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. When he passed, our friends stepped up in the same spirit of generosity that he had always shown. They raised enough funds to carry me through the rest of the year, allowing me to grieve, care for my children, and find the strength to figure out my next steps. That support gave me the time and space to breathe amidst unimaginable loss.
Still, navigating life after Waylon’s passing was overwhelming. Counseling for myself and the kids, survivor benefits, and basic resources were difficult to access and often confusing at a time when I had the least capacity to manage them. I realized firsthand how isolating and challenging it can be to face these burdens alone.
That experience planted the seed for the Texas Legacy Compassion Foundation. My vision is to give families more than just financial assistance. I want to ensure they have the compassionate resources, guidance, and support they need to navigate sudden tragedy. No family should have to walk this journey alone.
